Railroad Ties and Creosote Treated Wood:
TCLP Semivolatiles (acid fraction only).

 

Auto Shredder Residue (Auto Fluff):
Generally a minimum of three representative composite samples: TCLP Metals, Volatiles, Semivolatiles, flashpoint, reactivity, pH, PCBs, Sampling protocol varies depending on whether sample is obtained from a stockpile, or freshly produced auto fluff. Consult with Tech. Manager prior to issuing sampling guidance. Periodic testing will be required and will be determined on a case by case basis.

 

Fluorescent Tubes:
For generators of greater than 25 tubes per load: TCLP Metals. In general, these are considered hazardous waste and should be recycled.

 

Used Oil Filters:
Need a statement that the filters are not terne plated (terne is an alloy of tin and lead). No testing is required if the filters are not terne plated. Filters must be drained for a minimum of 24 hours.

"RCRA" Empty Tanks:
No testing is required, but need statement about what type of product the tank held and how it was cleaned. Both ends need to be cut off and the tank is required to be crushed.
